INJAD

What is INJAD?

INJAD -  stands for National Survey on the Reproductive Health and Sexual Behaviour of Young People and Adolescents. This is a household survey carried out by sample, which gathered data on some socio-economic characteristics, reproductive health, sexuality, family planning and violence.

Objectives

To provide information on the Reproductive Health and Sexual Behaviour of Young People and Adolescents; To provide information necessary for the design and implementation of educational programmes that take into consideration aspects concerning the reproductive health and sexuality of young people and adolescents; To make available a basis for designing strategies of intervention as regards the provisions of services in the area of reproductive health and disease prevention. 

Target Group
INJAD covered young people and adolescents aged between 15 and 24.

Questionnaire
Three types of questionnaire were used, for:
i) Households,
ii) Girls, and
iii) Boys.

The Questionnaires for Girls and Boys covered a variety of themes:

Characteristics of those surveyed
Sex Education
Contraception and Sexual Experience
Reproduction
Ante-Natal Care, and
Maternal Morbidity (only for girls)
Marital status
STDs/AIDS
Domestic violence
